Re: Rapid Brickset Editor

Excellent tool, but I wish it had FF4 beta support, or that FF4 would support it; whichever is the case.

If I knew then what I know now I'd tell you that the story's true.  Cause whatever you do, it comes back to you.  -Slaughter, Burning Bridges

A dude discovers open surge and downloads the game, he soon after wants to create his own tiles to build his own levels. He finds your brickset editor, and checks it out, but since he has no internet connection, (not all of us are happy to have such a commodity even today), he needs to walk to his library to search for things online. He gets disapointed and gives up on creating his own levels and tilesets.

in this case there is Celdecea's Brickset Editor.

Re: Rapid Brickset Editor

sometimes it does not give the right angles, even though orientation is specified correctly. sometimes it's easy to edit by hand, but things get messy with 100+ bricks. And i was using the slopes from template level, with Sunshine Paradise graphics.
Although the loop parts link together correctly, some pieces get weird angles. I'm not overlapping or building in weird ways.

try and load the brickset image for sunshine paradise, and do the orientation for loop parts. you will notice that in-game, the character is unable to complete the loop due to those "weird" parts

On firefox 3.6 (don't know about FF4), there's a problem about reading pixels from the image, hence the tool can't calculate the correct angle values.

Please use the latest version of Google Chrome instead. smile

Version 1.2 released smile

http://opensnc.sourceforge.net/brickset

It now includes a more sophisticated algorithm for determining the angles of the bricks. Please give me some feedback.

It is known to work on: Google Chrome, Firefox 4, Internet Explorer 9

Re: Rapid Brickset Editor

Sticky'd. This is a very nice tool that would be a shame to be shoved in the back of the forum. (Because I had trouble actually finding it. roll) Though I'm moving it to Open Surge Resources.
