I think Sonic 3 & Knuckles was the best sonic game ever made.
Reworked graphics, great music, three playable characters, 2p mode.... I could go on forever praising it.
Some people say it's Sonic CD but I just don't get it: the level design is awkward and the music horrible (both versions). The only thing you could save from SCD are the bosses, very original and the race with robo-sonic is awesome .

yeah, it's sega genesis. I also own a Mega Drive III, in which I played a lot when I was a small kid. A company called tectoy has brought "mega drive" to Brazil. Unfortunately that company is frozen in time, as they're still trying to sell "mega drives" and "master systems" TODAY. Their main business now is selling DVD players. There's a branch of the company called tectoy digital that produces mobile games... they also produced games for a videogame called "zeebo", but that console has failed miserably (I bet you never heard of it). The brazilian game industry is still not as developed as it could be, unfortunately. it's sad that the main things Brazil sells to the world are stuff like coffee, meat and orange juice, but very few high technology products.

i heard somewhere that the hardware of these new mega-drives/master-systems isn't even the real thing: they're basically emulators, with a completely different hardware...
hell, nowadays a significantly portion of the population can buy a cheap pc and run some cool games, even in Brazil. Why bother buying a master-system in 2011? I have gained a master system when I was 5!! Today I'm 22. It's been 17 years, man.

My general rule of thumb with old gaming systems: if you have it for longer than 8 years, you may as well keep it forever since it has nostalgic memories attached to it....
....or don't bother buying it if you don't already own it by that time (by now it's probably off the market anyways).

my rule of thumb is: never throw away a zx81 spectrum, it's worth your weight in gold.... even though the games are cr@p
I still have my Genesis I in good condition, and i'd never sell it. i want to repair my Game Gear though, it has a broken screen because

selling old consoles is still a business, pirate famicoms are still present all over, even though the "boom" (90's) has passed. now there are qwerty keyboards with cartridge slot and 2 controllers, but still a NES/Famicom inside (with modded circuit boards). I have disassembled quite a few, and they all have different internal layouts. And on the outside, they all imitate a console like Famicom, Genesis or SNES

on_floor_collision "stuff_breaks"
I dont get it: Did it break from falling into the floor or because it messes things up ingame when Sonic touches the floor?
