Hi, I'm a big Sonic fan from Austria. Please, be patient with me, because of my skills and my rusty english. I've played Sonic The Hedgehog 1-3plusKnuckles-addon at least 1000-times, and, as a real fan, I also have a fully functional Sega Mega Drive II with these Sonic games and other stuff...
well, then, when i was looking on the internet for new games, i've found the opensonic project, of course very excitet, that there are at least a few people, who can remember these games in the old days....
well, i have some experiences on photoshop cs3, so maybe i could be able to help you with the design part, and of course in programming, but not very well...
what i also want to know, is, where i can download the new stages and how i can participate...

You can Download more levels at the forum (See 'Custom levels') and download it from http://surgeswarehouse.ssdw.nl/index.php?levels.

so, does it mean, that the only thing i have to do ist to create bricks or objects and upload it here?
i've also downloaded the leveldesign-tutorial, maybe it's better when i start of with this....

Yes, but before you can contribute, you need to learn the basics of the engine first. The wiki is the place for that.

ok, i'll give it a try...thanks again...
oh, one more thing i want to know: will the open sonic project become a full version some day?
i have a lot of ideas, i only wanted to let you know that i really want to help you...
but step by step, first i have to learn how to use the level editor...
well, if you want to know anithing about me, just ask...

opensonic has been dropped.
if you're asking about open surge, then yes, it will become a full version. it won't be this year, though. and probably won't be in the next year as well. it's a long game, but it's planned. we release many demos in between, meaning that we always work heading short-term results. we encourage you reading our game design document: http://opensnc.sourceforge.net/wiki/ind … n_Document
since you're interested in the project, yes, learn how to use the level editor first. Then learn how to edit sprites and how to make bricksets and backgrounds. Make some experiments and post them here, so we can give you some feedback. More importantly: have fun with the engine. Once you get experienced with it, you'll be able to help the project.

ok, i'll do that...

thanks....which game, sonic or the one from your blg (signature)?

well, both of course:)
and it's a great idea playing not only one character, but all of them and at the same time. it's possible to use the "special abilities" better, because you would need them all in the game....
