Wrote the quest section of the wiki, take a look at it when you get a chance and let me know if there is anything I have missed.

I now have a 1 week break. I'll try to make whatever I can, but I've been hesitant to try bricks because I'm not familiar with how they're used or placed in-game, and I think I need to find some Sonic level images to make similar. Once I figure everything out, and make some nice ones, I'll try to put some stuff on the wiki to help others, even a good template maybe.

Users of the old Open Sonic used a tutorial to learn about bricksets: http://opensnc.sourceforge.net/forum/vi … .php?id=33
The bricksets wiki needs an updated version of that tutorial, this time for Open Surge. The content is still the same, but you have to replace the images used in that tutorial by new ones, as those used ripped graphics.

The only missing pages now are:

very simple stuff. we must tell that sound effects are .wav or .ogg files stored in the samples/ folder. A link to the sfxr program would help. a small section explaining the config/samples.def is also needed

also super simple stuff. we just need to tell that musics are .ogg files in musics/. an advice from a musician would help. I think jobromedia has posted something in those lines some time ago

Your explanation about sampling frequency is absolutely brillant. smile

Regarding the HUD case study, please remember to say something about the startup command in the .lev file. You're explaining how to create the hud object, but not how to put it in the game (modifying the .default_startup object is not recommended). Also, if you're in state "main", there's no need to call change_state "main". It doesn't harm, but it also doesn't "refresh" anything. In fact, it does nothing. If you don't change the state, the commands of that state are executed repeatedly.

guys, I need your help once again.

We need good documentation for the bricksets. A year has passed, and we don't have any.

I'm currently working on a cutscene with Race. Following that, if some of you writes the brickset documentation, I'll be able to work on programming engine features for you guys (like water), and we'll have 0.2.0 sooner.

If nobody takes that task, I can do it, but then the important engine stuff gets postponed.

For those of you who don't remember, the old opensonic tutorial related to bricksets (it's no longer on the forums) can be downloaded at: http://upload.surgeswarehouse.com/upload/bricks.zip smile Remember that we can't use any ripped graphics at this time.
