The spritesheet is being worked on! Right now you got all your basic animations... running, jumping, walking, even getting carried. This serves as a base, and I want to see some people add some detail to it.

Right now, gliding is weird... (you roll).

EDIT: fixed.

PROGRESS: All animations pretty much done (Still needing 'looking up' and 'almost falling off ledge'), only polish is left.

Yes it is! (answering both 'made from scratch' and 'too bad we can't see it in-game', lol)

Just put everything where youre supposed to, as usual, and move the old spr! It links to the new image!

EDIT: BTW, did I mention this was made 100 percent in paint? xDDD

How, exactly? The charge.spr in the package seems to be equal to the one from 0.1.4. I've uncompressed, installed the character, and I still see Knuckles.

OK, I'll go ahead and say right now... I'm not going to be able to make this entire thing myself. I need some help with the looking up animation (small, I know, but still would be great to have). Climbing is still being worked on right now, and that may need some revision (man, it's hard enough making a smooth running animation tongue).

yes. I think his eyes should be more expressive. I'll make some experiments when I get home today and post here.

Updated.

Now includes climbing (it needs major revision, I had a VERY difficult time) and a dying animation. Still no gliding because, again, he won't glide in the release (Unless voted otherwise). Also used a spruced up version of ssdw's spring animation (it was a bit blurred).

So, please, if you can make any changes for the better, attempt to. This spritesheet was made by me, but I give permission for anyone to edit it as they see fit (just post the result wink).

His climbing animation definitely needs work, so if you want to revise, start there. Right now he's 'stretchy armed'.

Well, I don't have time to test it right now, but if it's like your avatar, I've been meaning to say that he needs the bottom  edge of his eyes (even partial one is fine) and bigger visible eyes. Maybe a slightly more visible nose as well.

P.S. I always feel a bit jealous when looking at that kind of image of Charge, even just the sprite, because ALL the current Surges don't even come close (only in my opinion). hmm

it floated a little beside the player.
it's not easy to see, but I have taken him away.

SilverstepP, you already know most of my thoughts on your sprite, but heres a couple more:

the legs are nicely animated when running but the upper body is stiff. some arm movement makes it more natural looking.

this one isnt quite your fault, but the magic glasses are still configured for knux's sprites and show up at weird places sometimes. after the sheet is completed dont forget about it.

other than that, i vote that this becomes the style of all playable chars, so they dont become too different in look and feel

Very nice! The eyes can be a tiny bit larger, but the trick is to make them seem sharper. The eyes in the death one definitely need to be larger... or different. I still say the eyes need some suggestion of a bottom edge, even just a very light gray outline.

The mouth needs some more expression (longer line).

The ears start to look like antennae in most of them (idle is good), so either more of a back edge, or more triangular ears.

Also, try to remove any right angles: Either smooth them out, or change the angle to be acute or obtuse. The one at the back of his eye is a big one that sticks out.

I'm wondering if it should really be a round Mohawk on him while he's running... I gotta look more at the sketches. And I'm wondering if there should be some shine ... even fur shines a bit in the sun. The shine should be the same on all the characters, so maybe hold off on that until all the other characters are done? Or maybe set things straight starting here?

Other than that, I gotta test it out first.
