[REQUEST] Tutorial Music

Before you contribute, please read: http://opensnc.sourceforge.net/forum/vi … php?id=499

We request a music for the tutorial level. The tutorial level is the place where players learn what is cooperative play. We need an original music for it.

Tutorial levels will continue to exist on future versions of the game. Its music could be calm and/or informative. The following references can be used to get some inspiration, but it's not required to get restricted by them:

Thank you. smile

I stink at 'intellectual' and 'uplifting' music. Go for it Seventh.

Made. but is a MIDI and the quality in my computer, where the sound card is not very good, quality can be improved a lot. Do you know how can I apply filters or something to make better the quality? Maybe Di can solve my problem. Try to contact him, please. Thanks smile

Re: [REQUEST] Tutorial Music

Problem solved. Best quality possible in a MIDI. Sounds like a mp3. Well, don´t worry, in my page you can download my song in .ogg format, nothing of MIDIs lol . I hope you like it.
Opinions, please big_smile

I like this song!.
it's a quiet song, that makes it suitable for the tutorial.
and the song isn't annoying, there is variation in the melody.

it's a long song (5:39), how long did it take for the song was finished?

the song sounds nice overall. don't take it personal but... AGH!! midi :S

i can fix it up with some better instruments, if you like. all i need is the midi file.
in case you want to do it yourself, you need a good DAW (Reason, FL Studio, etc. Linux users have a free one called LMMS, which is sort of an FL Studio clone) then you just load the midi file, change the instruments to your tastes, link them to mixer tracks and put effects on them. when you're done save as mp3 or ogg. sounds easy, but the method may vary according to the software, though.

by the way, if someone wants their Open Surge's songs mixed and mastered with top quality, just let me know and we'll work it out wink
in case anyone wonders how it could sound like, refer to the link below in my signature.

Re: [REQUEST] Tutorial Music

I think the background sound is nice, but the main instruments are quite off the beat. In my opinion, it's somewhat strange.

Also, it must be noted that we won't accept musics that are too long or too huge in terms of file size. .ogg songs around 500KB should be fine.

by the way, if someone wants their Open Surge's songs mixed and mastered with top quality, just let me know and we'll work it out

that would be nice.

Of course, I will give you the MIDI. And thanks. smile

This is easy to fix. I will do it more short. After that I will give the MIDI to KZR. And all solved. ok? big_smile big_smile

Re: [REQUEST] Tutorial Music

The .ogg is now a lot shorter 3:30 aproximately. And the tutorial.rar include the MIDI for KZR.
KZR, improve the song, put special effects if you want.

You can do everything you like but don´t change the song (I mean melody, the bass, piano...).

Well, thanks for doing it. And my MIDI soundbank is very good, KZR. Remember, maybe in your computer you hear it bad  cool. If you have this problem I can give you my soundbank. big_smile .
Well, the link. You know, want and download the tutorial.rar:

Re: [REQUEST] Tutorial Music

I still think the instruments are a bit off. Also, the file size is still too huge. Putting it in the game impacts too much the download size of the game. Something around 500KB should be fine.

In this case we prefer not to adopt your music. Please read: http://opensnc.sourceforge.net/forum/vi … php?id=527

Re: [REQUEST] Tutorial Music

Well, it's been a week.

Is the file size going to get smaller? We can't adopt too large files.

Re: [REQUEST] Tutorial Music

By the way, my opinion about the music:
- Not fast enough. Increase the beat into either 4 by 8 or 8 by 8.
- Music is way too relaxing. It should have an "upbeat" feeling.
That's it for now smile .

Re: [REQUEST] Tutorial Music

Yes, KZR have other projects now, so I will make the song more short for you smile. I don´t understand you, SurgeChris... What do you mean with 4 by 8 or 8 by 8 hmm hmm? The music is write in 4/4 beat with the tempo (speed) to 100. If I want to increase speed, I only have to put more tempo.

Re: [REQUEST] Tutorial Music

Yes. Change the beat into 4/8. I think it's a bit faster.

tutorial.rar: 1664 kb

Still too large. The .ogg alone (not the .rar) should be less than 1MB.

Re: [REQUEST] Tutorial Music

Oh, yeah. One more suggestion. Try giving it a rock music accent if you haven't already.
