Your Guide to Sharing Scripted Objects

This topic contains multiple objects. In order to use these items effectively, however, you must put each file in its respective area so that it can work.

Where to put what:

.obj files- These files contain the scripted code that makes the items work. You put these in the 'objects' folder.
.spr files- These files contain the sprite set-up of the item. This allows the object to appear as a predetermined image in-game. You put these in the 'sprites' folder.
.png files- These files contain the pictures of the various objects and items. You put these in the 'images' folder.
.wav files- These files contain sound effects used for the objects. Put them in the 'samples' folder.

Important things to remember while uploading your objects:

1. Try to put all your files into a single zipped folder before sharing.
2. Put the smallest number of files in your folder as possible (try to make only one .obj file and one .spr file)
3. Test your objects for bugs.

Important things to remember while using uploaded objects:

1. Tell the author your opinion. Look for bugs and bring them up in the forum. If the author forgot a file, let them know as soon as possible.
2. Be sure to put everything in the right place.

This scripting engine was intended to make objects and items, so don't feel shy to share your objects with us. We want to help you improve your item and make it the best it can be. Have fun scripting!

Re: Your Guide to Sharing Scripted Objects

I think you should mention the uploader host from Ssdw in this sticky:

http://opensnc.sourceforge.net/forum/vi … php?id=684

There should also be a sticky like this one in the other "custom" areas of the forum
to guide the newcomers wink
