Hello

Hello. I'm Azu. Nice to meet you. I have a few questions about OS.

1.) Are (will be able to) create custom objects or gimmicks?
2.) What about custom bosses?
3.) Will be able to make Sonic3/Sonic 3 Knuckles Act system style?

Re: Hello

About the custom bosses. I had an idea for one. And, well, it's probably best that I show you a reference to my initial design.
And the link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxcouDR6Od4

Notice the big robot. That is what I want to make in my first zone, "Thanatos". I'm making a SatAM quest called "Project Thanatos".

Alexandre, I was a bit disappointed when you said there will be no Eggman/Robotnik. So, in response I've decided to make a custom quest dedicated to the SatAM series, and, I'm looking for advocates who are willing to aid me in the development of this project. I had to say this, because, honestly, I felt like I really had to.

I'm ready and waiting for you!

Re: Hello

Welcome, Azu. smile

OS's act system style is like Sonic CD.

You will be able to create custom objects, gimmicks and bosses once we get a scripting language working. If you want to do these right now, you'll need to modify the source code.

OS 0.2.0 will include some limited MODding capabilities. You'll be able to create your own style of items and gimmicks (i.e., change some common properties such as graphics), but it will still not include a scripting language. Scripting is a huge feature and will be implemented later.

We believe OS's 0.2.0 MODding capabilities will be enough for most users, though.

Heh, he's close though.

Alexandre is working hard... he managed to find time to respond to everyone's questions, develop the game, and make tutorials...

Ikarito, if Alexandre hasn't read your topic yet, DON'T RUSH HIM. He'll eventually get to it... he can't answer everyone's questions at the same speed. He also has a priority list here:

http://opensnc.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/TODO_List

This includes custom bosses, enemies, and all else to be considered.

I believe this will answer your questions Azu... and about the act system. We can already put in act 1, 2, and 3 by changing the lev file to say act 2 or act 3. Find an existing lev file, and you'll see what I mean.
