Half transparent

Hi again! I was wondering if there was a way to make a part of an image transparent, then fade to colour.
Like a cloud, it starts white in the middle, but around the edges it fades to transparent.

Re: Half transparent

Yes and no. Every sprite has its alpha defined as full picture. What you should do is create multiple sprites with different alphas.

Re: Half transparent

If PNG with alpha channel was supported, that would be easy to make in a graphic editor. Unfortunately, the engine only supports solid transparency, that means, a pixel is transparent or it is not. set_alpha only makes the whole sprite semi-transparent, in an uniform way. There is currently no way to make a fading transparency.

Re: Half transparent

It's kind of a work around, but you could just make the semi transparent areas about the same color as the background and position them so that they don't look out of place.
Sorry if this isn't much help. hmm
