[idea] The benefit of tutorial videos

Now I know that many people here uses the wiki to get the knowhow going. But one thing that would really boost the knowhow is if Open Surge had a youtube channel filled to the brim with tutorial videos covering everything from

  • Basic gameplay

  • Editing levels

  • Brickset / background creation

  • Scripting and API

  • Making a boss

  • Troubleshooting...

the list can grow very long as you know.

There is a youtube video producer I follow quite mandatory, and it's Direwolf20. Why? He has a way toteach how things work in gaming. Specially in Minecraft, and he does this by telling what he does, as he do the thing.

Here's a playlist that shows him in action.

So someone here with the proper knowhow, which I totally lack, should consider produce tutorial videos for Open Surge. What do you guys think?

Re: [idea] The benefit of tutorial videos

I agree, having tutorial videos should help to form bigger community for Surge. Preparing videos should be better done closer to first release, though (when all development tools become more mature and stable, to ensure our videos don't provide outdated information).

I also think that in future we can use youtube channel as a video blog to post regular progress (e.g. like OpenMW does).
